Your route travels through lush valleys, green pasturelands, coffee plantations, and several small towns. Arriving in San Jose, your scenic drive of this cosmopolitan capital takes in the Metropolitan Cathedral and the landmark National Theater. With its ornate 19th-century, neo-Classical architecture, elaborate murals, and gilded baroque fixtures, the National Theater is considered the most beautiful building in the country. Learn about the National Museum, this former fortress is home to a vast collection of archaeological and historic artifacts. Drive through the exclusive Rohrmoser district, La Sabana Park, and National Stadium. After your visit, enjoy a delicious lunch at one of the best and well known’s restaurants of San Jose. On the return to your ship, our guide will make several shopping stops at different souvenir’s stores where you can get that special gift you are looking for.

SPECIAL NOTES: The drive between Puntarenas and San Jose is approximately 90 minutes. Tour sequence may vary to avoid overcrowding. On Sunday arrivals when the National Theater is closed and access is not permitted, the National Museum is substituted.
